The male ego is fragile at best. On the outside males try to portray themselves as together and strong. The truth is, they also have needs and emotions which are often damaged in relationships and when they have a nasty break up. For this reason, it is important to know what to say to your ex to get him back (that is if you want to get back together with him). Here are a few pointers:
- Admit you are wrong, say you are sorry
- Tell him what a good lover he was
‘You´re the only man who knows how to please me’
‘You’re the best lover I´ve had’
‘You always understood me’
‘You have always been so generous’.
Be honest though – don’t lie. He will see through this. Furthermore, compliment him on something you like about him now – whether it is his new haircut, better build or positive attitude let him know that you like what you see.
- Use psycho-tactics
- Be empathetic, be a shoulder to cry on
Tell him you can understand why he feels a certain way. For example:
‘I understand why you feel like, this I can see why it hurts you’
In essence, let him know he can express his emotions to you in a safe environment. Be a shoulder for him to cry on. This shoulder might in time become your greatest tool in rekindling the relationship.
- Tell him how much you miss him
‘I miss how much you made me laugh’
‘I miss your witty nature’
‘I miss your charm’.
By doing so, you could mend his, perhaps, injured ego. Also, let him know you miss your time shared together. This will give him a sense of value and being needed which could lead him to taking you back.
- Tell him that you still love him
IMO: Breakups are for a reason and not every relationship warrants a second or even a third chance. But, if you still find love in your heart for this man and can't picture a life without him then I would definitely recommend using some of the tips mentioned above, but only if you feel the relationship is worth it. Just keep in mind and beware of when, if ever, it's time to leave then you need to go without looking back.
